I've had long hair for most of my life, wishing I could be just like Rapunzel since I was little. My hair is so important to me and has always been a big part of my identity.
I lost my Grandad to cancer in 2017 and it was an extremely difficult time for him and for our whole family. I can't imagine how much more difficult it is for a young child and their family to have to go through this too. I'm donating my hair in solidarity and as a way to try and help bring joy back to young children who are struggling.
It costs an average of £550 to make a wig, in addition to £150 for fitting and styling, bringing the total cost to around £700. This is such a high cost, especially in the current economy.
I've set my fundraising target at £400 as it seems more achievable right now. However, I'm hoping to exceed this target to provide more funds for the wig that will be made from my hair donation. Any size of donation contributes to the total and I'll be grateful for every one. Thank you x
